This policy explains how Only Heavy researches, sources, verifies, publishes and corrects everything on the platform — specifications, on-road prices, comparisons, used listings and editorial articles. It applies to every page on onlyheavy.in and to every person who writes or reviews for us.

The policy in one paragraph
Only Heavy publishes specifications and prices sourced from vehicle manufacturers (OEMs), authorised dealer price lists and official regulatory schedules. Every model page is checked by a named reviewer before publication, prices are re-verified monthly and after any manufacturer or GST revision, and each page shows the date it was last updated. Advertising and dealer subscriptions fund the platform, but no advertiser can buy a rating, a ranking, a price or a comparison result. Mistakes are corrected quickly, in public, and we tell you what changed.
Specifications come from OEM documentation, not resellers.
Every page carries a visible last-updated date.
Advertising never changes a rating, price or ranking.
Corrections are published, not quietly edited away.
01
Scope and ownership
Only Heavy is an independent heavy-vehicle marketplace and research platform operated from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, founded in 2025. This policy governs all content published on onlyheavy.in — model and variant pages, price and specification data, comparisons, calculators, buying guides, news and used-vehicle listings.
The editorial desk reports to the founders and to no advertiser, dealer or manufacturer.
No manufacturer, dealer group, financier or media company holds an ownership stake in Only Heavy.
Where a page falls outside this policy — for example a paid advertisement or a dealer-authored listing description — it is labelled on the page itself.
02
How we source specifications and prices
Data enters the platform from a defined source hierarchy. Higher-ranked sources always override lower ones, and a figure with no traceable source is not published.
Tier 1 — Manufacturer (OEM) sources: official brochures, technical datasheets, homologation and type-approval documents, and OEM press material.
Tier 2 — Authorised dealer price lists: ex-showroom and variant pricing issued by the manufacturer to its dealer network.
Tier 3 — Statutory schedules: state RTO road-tax tables, registration charges, GST notifications and insurance tariffs used to build on-road prices.
Tier 4 — Verified seller declarations: for used listings only, supported by ownership documents and photographs of the actual unit.
Never a source: Scraped aggregator sites, unverified WhatsApp price lists, forum posts and dealer claims that cannot be matched to an OEM or statutory document.
03
Verification and fact-checking
Nothing is published on the strength of a single input. Each record passes a two-stage check before it goes live.
Stage 1 — Normalisation: the model is mapped to our common specification schema so that engine, payload, gradeability and warranty fields mean the same thing across every brand.
Stage 2 — Reviewer sign-off: a named member of the research desk checks the record against the primary source and signs it off. The reviewer is recorded internally for every page.
Conflicting figures between two credible sources are resolved in favour of the OEM document; where the conflict cannot be resolved, we publish the range and say why.
Calculator logic (EMI, fuel cost, on-road price) is tested against worked examples whenever a rate, tax or formula changes.
04
Pricing accuracy and update cadence
Prices in the commercial vehicle market move often. We date every price and re-verify on a fixed cycle so you always know how fresh a figure is.
All prices are re-verified monthly, and immediately after any manufacturer revision, GST change, road-tax revision or new emission norm.
Every price on the site shows the date it was last checked and the state it applies to.
On-road prices are calculated, not quoted — ex-showroom plus RTO, road tax, insurance and applicable cess, itemised so you can see each component.
A price is an estimate for comparison. The final invoice comes from the dealer, and discounts, exchange offers and accessories can move it.
05
Used-listing verification standards
Second-hand listings carry a higher risk of misrepresentation than new-vehicle data, so they clear a separate checklist before publication.
Registration certificate and ownership are checked against the seller’s identity, and hypothecation status is recorded.
Photographs must be of the actual unit — stock, brochure and rendered images are rejected.
Year of manufacture, kilometres run, owner count and location are mandatory fields; a listing missing any of them is not published.
Listings found to be misrepresented are removed, and repeat offenders are removed from the platform.
06
Independence, advertising and commercial disclosure
Only Heavy is funded by dealer subscriptions, listing packages, qualified buyer enquiries and advertising. That funding buys placement in clearly marked advertising slots — it buys nothing else.
No advertiser, dealer or manufacturer can buy or influence a rating, a rank, a price, a specification or a comparison result.
Advertising, sponsored placements and promoted listings are visually labelled and separated from editorial content.
Commercial staff have no sign-off over editorial data, and the research desk is not measured on advertising revenue.
Where a page contains an affiliate or referral link that may earn us a fee, that is disclosed on the page.
In one line: Dealers pay for leads and listings. They cannot pay to change a rating, a price or a comparison result.
07
Authorship, expertise and review
Content is written and reviewed by people with direct experience of the commercial vehicle trade — dealership operations, fleet management and automotive research.
Editorial articles and buying guides carry an author, and technical pages carry a reviewer who verified the data.
Authors declare any commercial relationship with a brand they write about; where a conflict exists, the piece is reassigned.
Opinion, hands-on impression and verified data are visibly separated so readers know which is which.
The editorial desk is led by the co-founder responsible for research; final accountability rests with the founders.
08
Use of AI and automation
We use software to move data quickly, never to invent it. Automation assists the research desk; it does not replace a human check.
AI and scripts may be used to extract data from OEM documents, to structure specification tables and to draft summaries.
No AI-generated price, specification or claim is published without a human reviewer verifying it against the primary source.
We do not publish fully AI-written editorial articles under a human byline.
Vehicle images that are illustrative or AI-generated rather than photographs of the specific unit are labelled as such.
09
User reviews and community content
Owner reviews, questions and community posts come from real users and are moderated before they appear.
Reviews are accepted from verified accounts only, and incentivised or paid reviews are not permitted.
We do not delete negative reviews on a dealer or manufacturer request; we remove content only for abuse, personal data, defamation or spam.
Dealers and brands may respond publicly to a review, and their response is labelled as such.
Aggregate ratings are computed from published reviews without manual adjustment.
10
Corrections and complaints
We publish a lot of numbers, and some of them will be wrong. When that happens we want to hear about it and fix it visibly.
Report an error to [email protected] with the page URL, the disputed figure and, if possible, a source.
We acknowledge reports within two working days and resolve verified errors within five.
Material corrections carry a dated correction note on the page; minor typographical fixes are made silently.
If you disagree with our resolution, the matter is escalated to the founders, whose decision is final and communicated in writing.
11
Enquiries, data and your details
An enquiry is an instruction, not a lead we resell. Your contact details go only where you send them.
Contact details are shared with the specific dealer or seller you enquire with, and with no one else.
We do not sell buyer databases to third parties.
You can ask us to delete your enquiry record and account data at any time by writing to [email protected].
12
How this policy is maintained
This policy is a live document owned by the editorial desk and approved by the founders.
It is reviewed at least once every twelve months, and immediately after any change to how we source, fund or publish content.
The last-updated date at the top of this page reflects the most recent substantive change.
Send the page URL, what is wrong and — if you have it — the source that shows the correct figure. We acknowledge every report within two working days and publish the correction with the date it was made.
Does Only Heavy accept payment for better rankings or ratings?
No. Dealers and manufacturers can buy advertising, listing packages and buyer enquiries, and those placements are labelled. They cannot buy a rating, a rank, a price, a specification or a comparison outcome, and commercial staff have no sign-off over editorial data.
Where do Only Heavy specifications and prices come from?
From a fixed source hierarchy: manufacturer brochures, datasheets and homologation documents first; then authorised dealer price lists; then statutory RTO, GST and insurance schedules for on-road calculations. Scraped aggregator data and unverified price lists are never used as a source.
How often are prices on Only Heavy updated?
Every price is re-verified monthly, and immediately after a manufacturer revision, GST change or road-tax revision. Each page shows the date the figure was last checked and the state it applies to.
Does Only Heavy use AI to write its content?
AI is used to extract and structure data from manufacturer documents and to draft summaries, but no AI-generated price, specification or claim is published without a human reviewer checking it against the primary source. We do not publish fully AI-written articles under a human byline.
How do I report an error on Only Heavy?
Email [email protected] with the page URL, the figure you believe is wrong and any supporting source. We acknowledge within two working days and resolve verified errors within five, adding a dated correction note to the page for material changes.
